LA FESTIVAL OF BOOKS...

Like I've mentioned before...I LOVE BOOKS! & I have passed that passion on to one of my boys, so this past weekend I took him along with one of my best friends to the LA Festival of Books. It is a 2 day event held on the UCLA Campus. This event allows book lovers of all kinds to come together and enjoy, books, books and more books! You can pack a lunch and enjoy a book reading by the author at one of the many stages set up through out the campus (like my son and I did). You can also buy books and get them signed by the author (this was a really cool experience for my son), but make sure you have it planned out because some authors are only there during certain times and lines do form. This is not only for the children, it is also for adults, they have a variety of books from Adult fiction, non-fiction, cooking, etc. I had gone with a mission to find my next read however, spent all my money on my children! And to top of the day, we had ice cream sandwiches at Diddy Riese!

My son Julian with author David Shannon
Me & My Son

My Bestie and Me
Must go if your in Westwood, CA

This is the way to end a Perfect day!

So go on Sucias, enjoy a day and support good causes (like reading, especially if its for kids)!

Till next week Sucias!

Feliz Cumpleanos...

Happy 40th Birthday today to el Sucio himself...Mr. Luis Miguel! He has recently been in the news due to his hospitalization, however, there has not been any details in regards to this. Whatever the case may be I hope that he gets better soon. I have been to 2 Luis Miguel concerts and they both were amazing. LuisMi is not only a delicious handsome man, but he is a delicious handsome man with an amazing and beautiful voice that will melt any Sucias heart. A few of my favorite songs from him are: Si Nos Dejan, Usted, Fria Como el Viento, No Se Tu...I can keep going, but there are so many good songs, and I love when he sings with Mariachi, get me a cold beer or a ice cold margarita and I could listen to him all day!

How bout you Sucias, are you a LuisMi fan? Do you have any favorite songs? Here's to you Mr. Luis Miguel! Till next week Sucias! XOXO Queenie

It's Time for Dodger Baseball...

I was born and raised a Dodger Girl. Growing up I remember the 1988 World Series, I was six years old and can still recall Gibby's (Kirk Gibson) 2 run homer against the Oakland A's. Hardly being able to trot the bases and pumping his arm back and forth, that was (in my opinion) the Best moment in Baseball History!

With opening day right around the corner (April 13th), I can't get over the excitement of baseball season starting!! Aside from the Dodger Dogs and ice cold beer, I can't get enough of the eye candy on the field. Especially, the yummy right fielder, #16, Mr. Andre Ethier.

Ethier is not only one of my favorite players to drool over, but he is one of my favorite players to watch play the game. With 162 Hits, 31 Home runs & 106 RBI's in the '09 season, he was a key player for our Dodgers. Sure he had a his good and bad days, who doesn't? But I believe the Good out weighs the Bad for Ethier (can we say WALK OFF HOME RUNS?). Another thing that impressed me was that Ethier is not only a good ball player, but he also gives back to his community. He was born and raised in Arizona, however, he has raised money and volunteered his time to homeless shelters in the LA community. Last year he also held a Yoga class for fans with his personal yoga instructor in the outfield of the Chavez Ravine. (I hope he does it again, that would be an awesome experience!)

So here's to you Mr. Ethier on a fabulous 2010 Season, to my Doyers, Let's go boys! & to my Sucias, if you like the Dodgers or not, it doesn't really matter to me, as long as you get a chance to enjoy America's favorite past time at least once in your life! You won't be disappointed.

To all my Dodger Sucias, make sure to check out this blog...very informative and up to date on our boys in blue: www.vinscullyismyhomeboy.com
Till next week Sucias, Let's play Ball!

Dulce of the Month ~ April

Happy Spring Sucias! The spring weather in California is so beautiful & so random. It can go anywhere from a rainy and cold to beautiful, sunny and warm. I enjoy the spring time because our earth becomes a kaleidoscopic canvas flowers. Last spring I bought a nail polish from OPI called "Do you Lilac it?". It is a soft pastel Lilac color that isn't too bright, but isn't too soft either. For Easter I polished my toesies with this color and it was perfect for the occasion! Even though I bought this color last year, I still found it recently at Ulta with an array of many other pastels. So go on Sucias, enjoy the beauty of Spring and get some pretty pastels on those toes! XOXO

Working Out = Better Sex!

In December I weighed in at 140 lbs. this was the heaviest this Sucia had ever been (aside from being pregnant) & trust me I was starting to look like I was pregnant again. I couldn't go on anymore so I signed up with a personal trainer. I began doing strength training and walking 3 miles two times a week. I have also found my love for running again. I'm up to running 3-4 miles and doing anywhere from 12-15 miles a week. Over the past couple of months I started to lose weight (over 10 lbs. to date), I've been feeling better about myself, having more energy and having a better sex life. Now don't get me wrong, my sex life was OK with my husband however, it wasn't like it used to be. It was getting difficult trying to find time with our 3 boys in the house and it was less frequent partly because I just didn't feel like it. But since I started to workout my body has been transforming and getting more energy, sex has become more frequent, my sexual drive has increased by 110% and I am LOVING it! It has been proven, working out + increase in self confidence + more energy = BETTER SEX! So go on Sucias, do some yoga, go run a mile or two, and you'll start feeling like a new you! Till next week Sucias! XOXO Queenie
