Have you met "The Brazilian"?

Hola Sucias! A couple of weeks ago I had quite the experience...I had my very first "Brazilian", technically it was my 2nd but I was very drunk the first time I experienced it (on my friends bathroom floor), I could hardly remember it (except for the after math-THE PAIN!), therefore, it does not count in my books (plus, it was several years ago). For those of you who don't know what a "Brazilian" is, it is when a Sucia plucks the petals off their flower. I decided to try this because I am so tired of having to trim up & shave my bikini area, I have very sensitive skin & get bad razor burn, no bueno, especially in the summer. I wanted to be carefree & I had been contemplating, "Should I?" "Should I not?", I sucked it up & said "What the hell, lets do this". Since I have a friend who does this for a living she told me she would hook me up for free, I had a sense of relief because not only was it free (yay) but it was someone who I've known since I was young and felt very comfortable with her. To prepare for this, I did trim up (if not it will hurt a lot more) & took 2 Aleeve about 30 mins. before my appointment. She gave me the option of using a "hard wax" or a "soft wax". I decided to try both & see which one I thought worked better. And so we did...I first tried the "hard wax" which is more painful, but is suppose to have better results. The wax is applied and then you wait, the wax has to dry & harden, then it is slowly picked at, once they have enough picked up for a good grip, it gets ripped off! The first couple of areas waxed weren't that painful, however, when it did get to a certain spot, I couldn't take it. So we switched to the "soft wax". This wax is applied then ripped off with a cloth strip. This method was way quicker & not painful at all! I had very little irritation or pain a couple hours after and nothing at all the next day. I will definitely do this another time & I'm absolutely set on the "soft wax" next time around. So women & men (I know of 2 of you out there, who read this) I would love your feed back on this...is it worth everything we go through for beauty? Till next week Sucias! XOXO Queenie

Dulce of the Month ~ May

I am dedicating this weeks post to Ms. Audrey Hepburn. Therefore, I am please to announce that "For Audrey" by China Glaze is my pick for May's Dulce of the Month. I found "For Audrey" and immediately fell in love with the cool light "Tiffany blue" color and the name of course. Those Sucias, who know me, know why...I love Audrey Hepburn! She is the epitome of beauty, style and grace. The first time I wore this color, I wore it to Vegas. It was fun and perfect for the occasion & I received endless compliments on my nail polish that weekend and every other time I've used it after that. J'adore "For Audrey"! XOXO Queenie

I hope you all enjoyed this as much as I did!

Why guys? Why?

BEWARE: I AM ABOUT TO VENT! About a week or so ago, I e-mailed my husband a "Wish List" thinking I would help him out on what to get me for Mother's Day. Let me just give you a quick rundown as to why I opted to do this...one time for my birthday he gave me a book & a candle which was a great gesture however, I was in need of maternity clothes, another time for Christmas he gave me a leather shirt (yes, a shirt...lol - in his defense he thought it was a jacket). My husband has bought me some gifts in the past where I wonder to myself "What the hell was he thinking?". Now, don't get me wrong, I am not this ungrateful wife that hates everything her husband buys her, but come on, when I e-mail you a wish list or drop hints (all the time) you really can't go wrong. "Why am I venting?" you ask, oh because I received beautiful roses but no card or gifts from my list. Just roses. It was Mother's Day right? I did carry 3 of his children in my womb for 27 months of my life did I not? I am helping raise these kids too aren't I? When I see other men catering to their wives on Mother's Day showing their appreciation for everything their wives do for their families and my husband is just taking a nap on the couch apart of me was hurt. I felt like my husband really just didn't care. It was another Sunday for him. Well, there is always next year right? In the mean time I guess I will just have to treat myself to a manicure & pedicure or a new watch that I have been eyeing for the past couple of months now and keep hoping that the light will finally go off in my husbands head. Till next week Sucias! XOXO Queenie

Happy Mommy's Day!

Mother's Day is right around the corner (May 9th) and you cannot forget this very special day. This is the one day that you honor the one person who not only nurtured you for 9 months in the womb, but who has also nurtured you throughout your childhood scrapes and bruises and more than likely is still nurturing you throughout your adulthood hangovers and heart breaks. Your mother has been there your entire life and now being a mother and looking back at everything my mother has done for my brother and I, I honestly don't think ONE day out of the entire year is enough to tell the one woman in your life that truly matters more than anyone (other than your wife, for any man who reads this) how much you love them and appreciate them. You can buy a card, flowers, take them to brunch to show your appreciation, but all that really matters is that you tell your mom "Thank You". So here's to all the Sucias that have endured labor pains, been up every hour of the night because your baby has 102 temperature, held your baby when their 1st love has broken their heart, smiled with pride as your baby has received that college degree, cried when you've had to let go and let them fly on their own. You are a MOM, you are the rock of our families and you are the reason we have succeeded in life! Till next week Sucias! XOXO Queenie
