OKTOBERFEST!

September is almost gone & it's still 100 degrees outside!!!!  I want FALL here & I want it now!  I can't wait for everything October holds...sweaters, jeans, boots & BIRTHDAYS!  I definitely couldn't wait for a yummy tasting beer made by Spaten called "Oktoberfest" (I've been indulging in this beer for the past week....Mmmm Beer).
I first had this "Oktoberfest" beer in Germany at Epcot, Disney World in Janurary.  My hubby loved it so much that when we got home he searched on the good old internet & found it at Bev-Mo.  Luckily we have a Bev-Mo a hop, skip & a jump away from our house.  So he went, bought a six pack & when he got home we popped open a bottle and to my surprise it tasted gross.  I told my husband it was not the same beer we had had in Florida, but he insisted that it was.  He continued to buy it & I refused to drink it.
Last week we were doing our bi-weekly Costco shopping trip & found a tower of cases of "Oktoberfest" beer.  My husband was so happy, I swear he was like a fat kid in a candy store.  We bought a case & when I got home I decided to give the beer a second chance.  Sure enough this is not the same beer they sell at Bev-Mo, this beer was the beer we had at Epcot!!!!  Actually, my husband was right, the beer that he bought from Bev-Mo is the same beer that we had originally had at Epcot.  But Bev-Mo must not store this beer properly or must have it on the shelf too long because it definitely has a different taste, almost like a skunked taste.  Now that I know Costco is the place to buy this beer & my hubby's 30th is coming up, I will be buying a couple of cases for the festivities & I can't wait!!!

So here is to OKTOBERFEST!  BEIFALL!

Till next week Sucias!

It's a hairy situation...

If you know me, you would know that I have done everything you can probably imagine to my hair.  From long hair to pixie cuts, blond hair to permed hair!  I used to always say, "It's just hair, it will grow back".  While I like to change up my look every now and then with my hair I love trying new styles just to mix it up.

I loved the fish tail braids that were so in this summer, however, when I attempted it one day, it took me over a frustrating 45 minutes!  Something that is suppose to look so chic & simple was a nightmare and I never got it down, so I settled for a regular braid instead.  This is what I was attempting to achieve...

Another style that I absolutely LOVE, but don't have the balls to sport is the "Ombre" look.  A couple of weeks ago I got my hair done, by my fabulous stylist & told him I wanted a change, nothing too drastic just something that made a difference.  I mentioned to him that I really like the "Ombre" style but that I don't think I could pull it off, especially since a lot of people aren't fans of it....Here's a perfect example:

While my stylist was all for the "Ombre" hair I just couldn't get up the guts to do it.  Yes, I know I'm not Rachel or Drew, so I played it safe & got little & subtle highlights around the face & the top of my head.

So what do you think?  Do you like changing up you hair or keeping it simple?  Do you think these styles are going to be in for the fall or do you think they will fade quickly?

Till next week Sucias!

Has it really been 10 years?

YES, it has!  It's been 10 years since I have graduated from Chino High School (class of 2000).  I was pretty nervous on attending the reunion, considering I haven't seen a lot of people since we've graduated, and that I have never finished college, not to mention, I'm not really on the career path that I would have probably chosen, yet I was extremely happy that I did attend!  It was held this past Saturday at the Lucky Strike in Orange.  Yes, I know what you're thinking "a bowling alley?", but trust me this is not your average bowling alley, we had our own private room with our own private lanes, pool tables & servers.
Since our reunion was at a casual laid back place, I had a bit of a dilemma...What the hell was I going to wear?  The dress code was very vague, it was "Dress to impress"...While I love fashion, I like to think that I have an classic taste in clothes...I can go from girlie & frilly to jeans & a t-shirt.  And though most of the time I would love to wear what is in fashion right now, I find that I can never pull off what's "HOT".  So my 1st option was to get this one shoulder, black & white romper from Windsor's:

Cute right?  Well, I thought so until I tried it on, the medium was way too big on the chest part for me, so I tried on the small & guess what?  It was too tight on the chest part!  I went to many different stores & tried on many different outfits I wasn't happy with anything.  After a frustrating search for the perfect outfit & I made the decision to just wear a cute top, jeans & heels.  I also had some much needed reassurance from one of my sweet friends Miss K of Love, Lipstick and Pearls, who said "That's cute too!  That's what Cameron Diaz does", and so that's what I did!  Here are some pictures of the night...
blouse from Anthropologie, jeans from Nordies, heels Michael Kors & my every day Louis Vuitton purse (not pictured)
(this picture was actually taken at the end of the night, when we got home...hee hee)
My Michael Kors heels, yes they are a couple years old, but very comfy
(I actually fell in love & bought them because they reminded me of huarache sandals from Mexico ~ embracing my Hispanic heritage!)

Me & my Hubby
Me & my Bestie (ever since Jr High!)

Friends from my class
an old friend since elementary school!

So here is to you my sweet Chino High class of 2000!

On another note, I have been contemplating of starting another blog of just me & my kids, almost a journal of my experiences with my boys, their comments, and life...let me know what you think?
Till next week Sucias!

I've been on Hiatus...

Sorry Sucias & Sucios, I know how much you have missed me, but I have been on hiatus from my blog to have some last minute fun in the sun before my summer lovin' comes to a complete halt.  While I have had a blast these past couple of months I have decided to post some of my favorite "Summer Moments" for you!

My Summer fun began with my eldest son finishing Kindergarten!

Then it got kicked into gear with the World Cup & the Spain hotties taking it all!
My girls & I watching an Argentina game

my Little guy sporting his Argentina gear
We celebrated our favorite holiday the 4th of July (which is also my eldest son's birthday)...

...and celebrated his 7th birthday with "Pure Imagination"
Mr. Juju Wonka had a "Wonka Vision" and yummy candy to share with his guest

Took my boys to Disneyland
He is the only one who will go all out!

And of course Dodger Games!!!!

Our anniversary weekend at the river

And ended my summer at a beach house for the week with my family

And so as I've reached the end  of my Summer Lovin' Fun I still have plenty to look forward to in the months to come.  My eldest son will be starting 1st grade tomorrow, my 10 year high school reunion is soon approaching,  the hubby will be turning 30 and I will be a bridesmaid and Matron of Honor in destination weddings that will take place in 2011!

Till next week Sucias!
