This little piggy...

SUCIAS!  This little piggy has been over indulging in food, drinks, desserts & haven't worked out in over 3 months!!!!!  OOPS!  Needless to say I am growing by the minute!!!!  It never fails, the 1st place I always start to gain weight is in my GUT!  Now, I know I have 3 kids & yes trust me it does take a toll on your body, but this gut is not from having kids it is from being a Little Lazy Piggy!  I am so upset with myself because as I mentioned a couple months ago I was doing so good I had lost 10 lbs. and was losing inches (I also had a personal trainer).  Sadly after I stopped meeting with my trainer I started to go back to my old habits & I started drinking quite a bit of BEER, mmmmm, Beer!  So about 2 weeks ago I went to my son's pediatrician and I had to step on the scale with him because he refused to step on by himself, this was the moment of truth (Oh No!).  Surprisingly, I had only gained 2 lbs., yay!  That's not so bad right?  No, not at all but what is bad is that I was toning up like crazy when I was working out & I'm FLABBY again, boo!
What am I going to do about it you ask?  Well, I am going to start eating healthy again for a start, hello salads!  I've already started to cut back on my cups of coffee that I consume daily and start drinking green tea again.  My only problem is my motivation to work out.  I enjoy working out by myself, but I have to do it early in the morning & right now I just am not having the energy to do so.  I also enjoy running and boy do I drop the pounds when I do so, but again NO MOTIVATION!  So what should I do?  I've actually been considering the Huntington Beach Half Marathon that will be held on Feb. 6, 2011 (the day after my brothers birthday).  I have always wanted to do a half marathon but have never committed to it.  I think I just might do it!
So Sucias, do you have any motivational working out/running tips?  I'd love to hear your take on what you do to get up & going on a work out routine.

Till next time Sucias!

Jujupalooza ~ The Dirty 30

This past weekend my husband turned 30 & we celebrated by doing a Pub Crawl in Newport Beach.  For those of you who have never done a pub crawl, you pick a date, start time, theme and go bar hopping!
Our theme/name of the crawl was "JUJUPALOOZA ~ THE DIRTY 30", we provided shirts and fake mustaches for everyone who wanted to wear them.  Our crawl started at 1pm went to 8 bars (YES, 8 BARS!) and got home around 12am.  While I don't remember a certain part of the night (3 bars to be exact)  I do remember starting out the day at the first 4 bars.  After the 4th bar, Sharkeez, that is where it went downhill (thanks to the "Shark Attack").
This was our Pub Crawl agenda:
1.  Rudy's
2.  Malarky's
3.  Newport Brew Co.
4.  Sharkeez
5.  Districts
6.  Beach Balls
7.  Mutt Lynchs
8.  Cassidy's
We also ran into other "pub crawls" who both had cowboy themes.  But ours was awesome and here are some pictures of how the day/night went!

Happy Birthday to ME...

Today I turned 28 years old!!!  I have known a couple of people that have taken certain birthdays, like turning 25, 30, 35 etc. pretty hard.  Each one has had their own personal reasons why & I could never relate to them because to me, I have never been hung up on AGE.  It has always been just a number.  But this morning I woke up & thought to myself, "Holy Sh*t!  I'm 28..that means I'm only 2 years away from being 30!"  This wasn't me, this wasn't the happy go lucky, it's my day/week so I get what I want girl that I normally am on this day/time of month.  Rather than get up early & get all dressed up, (what for, it was just another day, so what if its my BIRTHDAY) I slept in the extra 30 minutes and decided to throw my hair in a bun.
So simple! ~ back view

I dressed in my favorite "relaxed" outfit, gotta love leggings!  My hubby helped me out the door & wished me a Happy Birthday... & I took my son to school.  After I met up with an old best friend, Reyes, for a Pumpkin Spiced Latte (my favorite thing this time of year), he brought me some flowers and we laughed and reminisced about our high school days!  Great way to start off my day!

When I arrived at work my co-worker had more flowers along with a pumpkin pie waiting for me!!!!  I always prefer pumpkin pie over cake on my birthday!
My hubby met me up for some lunch w/the babies and they bought me some beautiful roses.
And although I wasn't able to do our traditional birthday dinner with my madre she came by on her lunch break and dropped of my present.
She gave me some beautiful earrings that I just adore!  Thanks mommy!

Even though the day didn't unfold like I thought it might of, it unfolded to be a better day and it was a BEAUTIFUL BIRTHDAY!  THANK YOU, THANK YOU & THANK YOU to everyone who sent me birthday wishes and made me feel loved!

P.S. ~ a very special Thank you to my prima who sent me 1 birthday wish via text this year as oppose to 100!!!!

Twilight Part II...

A couple of months ago I did my blog post/book review of the first 2 books of the Twilight Saga, Twilight & New Moon See Here. 2 weeks after I finished the 1st two books I had already finished the last 2 books!  While I fell in love with Eclipse the 3rd book of the saga I was a little disappointed with the 4th & final book Breaking Dawn.

I am sad to say but I was quickly becoming a "Twihard".  I started reading this book but stopped because I really wanted to watch the movie.  So I went to the theater to watch Eclipse.  I felt like a LOSER because I went by myself.  I had to see it & couldn't wait another day because I wanted to read the book!  So there I was all by myself at the theater with my candy in hand watching all the couples on a date night fill the seats around me.  Once the movie started I got into it right away, but then I thought to myself, "How come I don't do this more often?  This is really relaxing!"  The movie was awesome and as soon as I got home I started reading the book again.  It took me about a week to finish reading Eclipse.  I actually finished it while the hubby & I were on our anniversary weekend river trip.  I know, I know, why am I taking a book on our anniversary trip, well the truth is we were with friends & it was a "Relax with no kids" weekend.  So while he enjoyed himself fishing & drinking beer I enjoyed myself reading & drinking beer!
(*Note to self, I will never take a book to the river again...drinking + reading at the river = major water damage to a book.  Thank goodness I bought my own & didn't borrow it from someone, heee heee.)
Eclipse was my second favorite book of the saga.  It focused in on the love story between Bella & Edward, which was the reason I fell in love with Twilight.  It also gave you more of a depth into the lives of some of the other vampires.  One of the best parts of the book was the Vampire battle scene, which was also my favorite part of the movie & it left you craving more at the end.
Thank goodness I had bought Breaking Dawn the same time I bought Eclipse.  The hubby asked me if I had to buy both books at the same time and I told him I did because I know I'm going to want to start reading the 4th book as soon as I finish the 3rd.  And I was right!  I started reading Breaking Dawn with high expectations for 2 reasons.  1).  Eclipse ended so good I wanted to find out what happens with Bella & Edward, do the get married or don't they?  Does she become a vampire?  2).  All of my other "Twihard" friends told me Breaking Dawn was so good, it was the book "where it all goes down".  What did that mean?  Well I was soon to find out.  While I preferred to watch the movie before reading the book unfortunately I couldn't.  The movie hasn't been made yet but I hear production will be starting soon!!!  The wedding & love scenes in Breaking Dawn were ok, I felt as if the author, Stephenie Meyer could have gone more into detail.  I had to remind myself this is a teenager novel, boo!  I need hot steamy sex scenes and this book was far from what I am used to reading.  As I got to the middle of this book it kind of dragged but a climax was building and it was keeping me intrigued.  However, nothing happened!  WTF!!!  How do you build something up and then nothing happens?  Someone could have at least died or something!  (I don't want to go into much detail because if you have never read the books or watched the movies I don't want to be the one to blow it for you.)  The story ends like every other happy fairy tail...Everyone lives Happily Ever After...BORING!  That was not the ending I was actually expecting or hoping for in all honesty.  I can't wait for the movie & am actually rooting for them to divert from the actual novel (which I never do) and change up the parts that disappointed me because this book has the potential of being an awesome movie.

So are you a "Twihard"?  Were you as disappointed reading Breaking Dawn as I was?  Will you be camping out to see the 4th & final installment of the Twilight saga?  I will!!!

Till next week Sucias or not!

Don't be surprised if I post things during the week, like I did last week! I don't think I'm going to limit myself to just once a week anymore!

a "Reyna" Holiday...

It's funny, when I mention to people that I have a job, they looked puzzled & ask "Really?  What do you do?".  I laugh & tell them exactly what I do, I am a Wife, Mother, I help my husband with his business & work as a Medical biller for my mother-in-laws business.  Most of the time it must seem that I'm on holiday going to the beach, taking the kids to Disneyland.  Yes, that is exactly the way my life is...it is a Roman Holiday..more like a "Reyna" Holiday...yeah right, I WISH!!!!

While I wish I could shop all day, drink espresso & indulge in the good life, I can't.  I do work hard so I can make time to leave work early & play every once in a while.

Recently I was so confused & upset that I'm only a couple of years shy of 30 & had no idea what I was going to do for the rest of my life.  My 28th birthday is right around the corner & I have finally had an epiphany!  I know it will not happen within the next year or two but I have decided what I want to do and want to share with you some of my goals that will eventually lead me to my dream in life...
"The most important thing is to enjoy your life - to be happy - that's all that matters." ~ Ms. Audrey Hepburn

1st Goal ~ Take sewing lessons.  I love to create things, buy fabric & have a sewing machine, but can't sew if my life depended on it.

2nd Goal ~ Finish College.  In order to build a business I need to know how to run one right?

3rd Goal ~ Pastry School.  This is the one thing that I probably have always wanted to do.  I love to bake & bake & bake!!!

So what the heck am I going to do with all these 3 different goals?  Eventually you will find out...

"My own life has been much more than a fairy tale.  I've had my share of difficult moments, but whatever difficulties I've gone through, I've always gotten a prize at the end." ~ Ms. Audrey Hepburn

I know some parts of my life have been like a fairy tale & there have been & will be many difficulties.  I also know this is going to be one hell of a ride, but I've got my eye on the prize!

Till next week Sucias!

Dulce of the Month...

Back by popular demand...Dulce of the Month!  By whom? you ask...me of course!  It has been a good couple of months since my last Dulce of the Month, but hey, it's my blog & I can do what I want to!  Since it's has been about 1,000 degrees outside & there is no sign of fall coming anytime soon I wanted to feature a color that I originally bought just for some summer fun.

"Custom Kicks" by China Glaze is a fun, funky color & I loved it on.  It was a combination of teal/green with slight tint of shimmer underneath.  I loved this color on & I was happy to pull it out this past weekend & put it on my little piggy's.

Stay tuned for a special Dulce of the Month for October!
